Remove the rear wheel, the chain remains on the chainrest. Repair the flat tire. Install the rear wheel without having to touch the chain. Mount the bike, cyclocross style and shift off the chainrest onto the smallest rear cog. You’re Golden. Also note the chain stay slap guard.
