It’s a beautiful morning in Seattle. Blue sky, bright sunshine, gentle breeze; just right for a day out and about with the family.
Now that I’m a Dad and my wife, Katie, is a Mom I’ve learned that it’s really all about the little things. When I build bicycles, I am well aware of the importance of the details, but I’m only coming to realize the role they play in the rest of life. And it’s the finer, smaller details that make it best.
I made breakfast for my wife/new mother this morning. Served it to her in bed (she was sleeping in) with a single cup of coffee and a small bouquet of flowers from our garden.
I tell ya, it brought tears to both our eyes.
Enjoy the day all Mothers out there. And be proud Papas, too, because you’ve got a role to play and it involves little, tiny details.

Glad I can be of inspiration, but Chris? Did you read his bio on Wikipedia?
“Lacking a steady father figure, Chris grew up a hoodlum. As an adult he experimented with several drugs and was imprisoned for grand theft auto. He learned much from his fellow inmates; when he was paroled in 1986, he was broadly educated in the ways of the world.”
