Carl’s bike is based on the bike I entered and rode in the 2009 Oregon Manifest with a few key improvements and a few omissions: excellent tire/fender clearances, normal bottom bracket height and rigid, elegant low-rider racks were improvements. Simplified right rear dropout without integrated chainrest, standard rear cable housing stops, no chain slap guard.
The first photo is one I shot with film. I’ve started taking a few pictures of each Boxer Bicycle with my film cameras to give a different perspective. My eyes see the bikes in a certain “light” as I build them. I use the Nikon DSLR to capture clinical detail. For me, the film is about feeling, acuity of vision and tangibility, cuz, you know, I can touch ‘em.
